BRT, BUS RAPID TRANSIT is a bus transport system in Peshawar. Peshawar is the capital city of KPK, a province of Pakistan. BRT was started on 13 August 2020 and managed by Peshawar Development Authority (PDA). This bus system will serve 30 stations with almost 450 numbers of buses. Out of which 155 are 12-metered long buses while 65 are 18-metered long buses.
DETAILS OF BRT PROJECT
It was said that this project will be completed in March 2020 but it was delayed because of lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So the project was stopped in the duration of lockdown. So the project completed in August and it was inaugurated on the 13th of august. Now this service is active and serving public successfully. BRT is of high quality, high capacity, fast-working, and the most efficient transport system for the public. It is approximately cost 70 billion.
WHY THIS TRANSPORT WAS NEEDED?
Such an effective management system was needed for the public as it is very convenient, reliable for passengers. It is also great for the economy and environment as it is reducing pollution. It provides awesome facilities such as e-ticketing, real information on bus schedules, and improved waiting facilities. That’s why it is more convenient for users of BRT.
FEATURES OF BRT
BRT, Enhances the reputation of the city also the outlook of the city looks great. Featured with an environmentally friendly system as reducing vehicle emission. It also decreases travel time for its use due to its fast working. It is cost-effective, fast working, comfortable with an extra security system. Moreover, the best ticket system which is e-ticketing machines so bus operators will not do collect fares at all. Fares are very low cost which is another awesome feature as everyone can afford it and make their lives better. Buses have low entry, providing easiness to wheelchair users. Also providing free WiFi service to its users. Buses have a diesel-electric engine system reducing fuel economy and reducing pollution. The minimum cost of fare is Rs.10 only while maximum fare is of Rs.50, which is very awesome and everyone can use BRT
BRT ROUTE DETAILS.
It has a total of 8 routes with 68 kilometers. BRT has a segregated route which is almost 26 kilometers covering 30 stations. Where each station will be within half of a kilometer make it reliable for users. The route starts from CHAMKANI to Hayatabad. This segregated route is for frequent and rapid service also comfortable for other private transport users. There are around 450 buses, each with a capacity of 90 people.

The public has given heart whelming response to it and giving thanks to DPA. According to hem, it has made their lives better. As it works very fast and save their time, money and provides them safety. People are loving it.
